Do you automatically think of magical mountain landscapes when you hear someone mention the Cross-Country Skiing World Cup? It was one crazy idea a couple of years ago that provided the impetus for the ultimate skiing event on the Rhine esplanade in Düsseldorf.
From 2nd to 4th December 2011, the world's best cross-country skiers will be meeting for the ninth time at the annual FIS Cross-Country Skiing World Cup, which will take place in front of Düsseldorf 's old town.
